Diwali is the festival of lights and spark..People of india celebrate it with great joy.children and even adults fire crackers .Homes are cleaned to welcome the devi Laxmi .Sweets are distributed in between friends and families. But did you know why diwali is celebrated ?lets us know the reason together.Back in the time when our Maryada Purshottam Shree Ram defeated and kill demon kill Raavana in Lanka. After this he is returning back to Ayodhya ,he had also complete fourteen years of Vanvaas and completed his father promise . So now he was returning to Ayodhya with Sita Ji , laxman Ji,Hanuman Ji, Vibhishan and other supporters. When the news of his returning reached to Ayodhya , the people of the city Charmed with joy. Their is a air of happiness in the enviornment. All people are keen to welcome Ram with Sita ji and laxman. For their grand welcome they decorated Ayodhya Nagri with Uncounted Diya’s .Their happiness is unmatchable that they loose their patience to see their King. From that day people started celebrated thus day as the memory of Shree Ram homecoming.His brother Bharat ,Shatrughan and all people from the sacred city welcome him on his arrival to Ayodhya.
Why Shree Ram went to Vanvaas ?
Shree was the son of King of Ayodhya Maharaj Dasrath ji . He belongs to Ragu clan. His father had three Queens named Kausalya, kaikayi and Sumitra. Ram was the son of Kausalya. Apart Ram Dasrath ji had three other sons sons also named Bharat(son of Kaikayi),Laxman and Shatrughan(son of Sumitra).When they all completed their education under the guidence of Sage vashishtha and returned home from Gururkul . After returned they went to mithila with Sage Vasisththa.
Once the king of Mithila organised a archery competition .Winner of the competition will get marry with his daughter ,Sita. Ram along with his brothers went to took part in the competition with Vishwamitra. ram won the competition and broken the Pinaka (Bow of Lord Shiva). When Ram broke the Bow ,Lord Parshuram became furious and a verbal fight between Laxman and Parshuram happen because Parshuram scolded Ram for broking the bow.But soon Shree Ram handled the matter with his mind of presence and humble behaviour. When Parshuram came to know that Shree Ram is the incarnation of Lord Vishnu,he cool down himself and admitted his mistake and went away from there after giving blessing to Maryadapurshottam. King Janak praised Ram and called his daughter Sita with the garland of flowers for Swayamvar. When king Janak came to know that Ram is with his three brothers so he requested them to marry with Sita’s Sister and cousins.Then Laxman got married with Urmilla, Bharat to Mandavi and Shatrughan to Shrutakirti. After coming back to home with their wives they are welcomed by their mothers. once king dasrath decided to declare his successor. He named Ram for the next king of Ayodhya. All were happy expect manthara.She fills jealous and filled poision in the heart of Kaikayi against Ram. Kaikayi was completely manipulated by Manthara .Kaikayi called king Dasrath and recaaled his promise made by Dasrath at the time of war with devils when Kaikayi saves Dasrath’s life and after getting cocious Dasrath thanks to her for saving his life and gave her three promises that she wants from him.at that time kaykai didn’t ask for anything and said she will took these when she need them. So she asks the King to comlete his all three promises now. The king asked her to took what she want . She said “, make Bharat king of Ayodhya instead Ram ,Ram exciled for fourteen years and Ram wear the hermit clothes during the Excile.After listning this dasrath gets furious and asked her to demand other things. But kaikayi was determined on his words. So dasrath told Ram all these things and Ram as a obident son ready to complete his father promise and went to jungle with laxman and Sita ji.
